How to Play WordSteps

WordSteps is an against-the-clock word game that tests your thinking, awareness and speed.

In Round One, the Bronze Round, you will be presented with a 4-letter word. You have 60 seconds to change one letter at a time to make as many new words as possible before the timer runs out, scoring 1 point for each new word.

In Round Two, the Silver Round, the rules are the same, but you will be given a five letter word and each new word now scores 2 points.

In Round Three, the Gold Round, the same rules apply to a 6-letter word, and each new word scores 4 points.

General Rules

Words must be found in the English dictionary. Place names and any words that would normally be capitalised, such as personal names and brand names, are not allowed.

A word can only be used once.

Why Word Games Matter

Word games can help improve vocabulary, spelling, pattern recognition and mental agility.

Daily puzzle games can also encourage memory, concentration and problem-solving skills.

WordSteps was designed to be simple, accessible and enjoyable, while providing a fun mental challenge each day.
